A.warm up
During training, the body is systematically moved from the inside to the periphery. A short bottom part awakens the kinaesthetic perception. Then it goes through processes that relate breath and movement, more and more into the dance coordination and step by step into the space. Movement coordination in and around your own kinesphere is the focus. Small balls are used as a special booster. By setting sensory stimuli, they help to create highly complex movement patterns with more ease. The aim is to move freely to expansively in 360 degree space.
B. Preparation
This part of the lesson prepares for a solo as well as improvised dance situation with an audience. For this, settings are created on various themes, in which the dancers charge each other with directing impulses. One's own body knowledge is activated in a targeted manner in variations with space, focus, inner images, dealing with form, states and timing. The aim is to rediscover the connection to one's own concentration and self-observation and at the same time to keep one's perception wide open to the outside world.
C. Practice
In this part of the workshop there is the opportunity to apply the contents and experiences from the first two parts in a concrete performance situation and to engage in an intensive exchange with the audience.
Open dance laboratory in 3 parts "Look - participate - change of perspective"
After an internal workshop for dance professionals, the tanz*werk kassel will open on Sunday, June 12th, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. in the SOZO to an interested audience and react to ideas, instructions, interventions. For an overlapping hour, dancers and the audience meet in an open performance.
At 2:45 p.m., »Click the Moment« will be followed by an interactive viewer to watch and talk about dance. What »clicks« for you? Solos, duet, trios? Inside or outside, in large or small groups?
At 4:30 p.m., the dance laboratory ends in a »kerbstone balance« (from the Sneaky Leaks series) on the railroad tracks in front of the SOZO.
The dance laboratory is open to everyone, admission is free. Admission 15 minutes before the beginning of each part.
